The third installment in our six part series features Oscar McNary, spoken word artist and active participant in the poetry slam scene. The original poem presented here is riveting and delivered with a kind of brutal honesty that makes your ears tune in. For more about Oscar McNary, check out his poetry blog, his blog on trans lifestyle and his Facebook page.
The Focus: Seattle Poets series spotlights the local poetry slam scene, and is the first video series on Another Passion. As with all the videos in this series, Another Passion members can download a digital copy of this performance to keep.
Though each video is short, several people were involved in the making of this series. With this episode, I’d like to throw a thank you out to Joel Telling, whose help during the shoot was critical. As the production manager, he kept track of time and made sure the talent was ready to go on camera, and he assisted with the nitty gritty of setting up gear, driving and shooting some of the video. I’d like to thank Joel for volunteering his time and helping to make this series a reality.

You know, I remember we filmed Oscar, but I don’t remember the telling of his piece echoing such power. Oscar is a great storyteller, and this is a brilliant edit showcasing his talent. Very well done!
